With the use of ultrasound imaging, practitioners can see the layers of tissue during treatment to ensure that the energy is delivered precisely to where it will be the most productive. Significant skin lifting is achieved by focusing ultrasound energy specifically into the deep foundations below the skin layer. These are the same areas addressed in a face-lift surgery. With Ultherapy®, we can lift and tighten the skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. This improves skin quality from the inside out. The middle third of the face is filled to replace volume, particularly at the apex of the cheek, to create the perception of youth. Finally, the lower face is contoured and shaped. Dermal fillers are natural hyaluronic acid -based fillers that are used to shape the jaw line, the pre-jowl hollows, chin, smoker’s lines as well as the area in front of the ears. Lips may also be enhanced in women whose lips lose volume as a result of aging.
