Preparing for Laser Treatments
Dr. Shehla Ebrahim and our team of Laser Technicians recommend that you come in for a complimentary consultation prior to scheduling a laser treatment.
There are many different types of lasers, each designed for specific treatments. During your consultation, we invite you to ask questions and voice any concerns. After hearing your goals, Dr. Ebrahim will recommend the best laser option for you and provide you with information on the preparation.
Here are some general rules for most laser treatments:
- Avoid the sun for at least 2 weeks prior.
- Protect yourself from sun with a good sunblock with an SPF of 30
- Don’t have the treatment if you have a tan or sunburn
- Stop using skin care product with active ingredients 2 – 3 days prior to laser treatment.

Dr. Ebrahim always recommends good skin care habits, including using retinol, Vitamin C, and Azelaic acid, to improve the outcome of any laser treatment. If you are interested in more information about skin care options, contact us for a complimentary skin care consultation.
