Dr. Shehla Ebrahim Featured in “User’s Guide to Cheating Death”
Dr. Shehla Ebrahim, our extensively trained physician, will be featured in the documentary, “A User’s Guide to Cheating Death.” This series will air in March of 2017, and it will explore the science and social effects of cutting-edge health trends.
In the middle of a busy clinic day, Ambleside Dermedics was the set for the “A User’s Guide to Cheating Death” filming of a Vampire Facial.
This was the very first Vampire Facial for our model. When she heard micro-needling would be the first step in the procedure, she was uneasy as she imagined big long needles poking into her face. She was so relieved that the needles are very, very tiny, and she describes as feeling as like a deep-tissue massage.
The purpose of the micro-needling is to create controlled microscopic injuries to open channels to deliver the PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) deeper into the skin.
PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is rich in many growth factors and stimulates the production of new collagen within the skin. This treatment is excellent for clients who want to improve the texture and tone of the skin, as well as control fine lines. The Vampire Facial can regenerate and rejuvenate the treated area.
