Am I A Good Candidate for CoolSculpting™?
If you’ve heard about the many benefits of non-surgical CoolSculpting™ treatments, you may be wondering if this innovative fat reduction method can help you achieve a firmer, more contoured appearance. Dr. Shehla Ebrahim and Marouska Smith, our CoolSculpting™ specialist, can determine your candidacy with a thorough examination and discussion during your initial consultation. Some of the many indicators they look for will include:
- Experiencing dissatisfaction with your appearance due to stubborn pockets of fat
- Being in good health, and maintaining healthy habits with regard to nutrition and exercise
- Weighing within 20-30 pounds of your ideal weight
It’s important to note, CoolSculpting™ relies on cooling the fat cells to the point that they will be destroyed, and the device uses suction to hold the tissue between two cooling plates that deliver the energy into the skin. Your area of concern, or “bulge,” must be able to fit between these two plates. After the procedure, you should continue your healthy habits to help the fat process out of your body effectively. Marouska will be happy to discuss the details of the procedure during your initial consultation, as well as answer questions and address any concerns.
CoolSculpting™ is designed to be non-invasive, and you should be able to return to normal activities immediately following treatment. Some numbness, redness, and mild bruising are common, though these effects should fade within a few days.
